Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) system is indicated for patients who would benefit from a suction device (NPWT) as when used on open wounds it creates an environment that promotes wound healing by secondary or tertiary (delayed primary) intention by preparing the wound bed for closure, reducing edema, promoting granulation tissue formation and perfusion, and by removing exudates and infectious material.
It is indicated for patients who would benefit from a suction device (NPWT) as when used on open wounds it creates an environment to help promote wound healing through Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT). It is preparing the wound bed for closure, reducing edema, promoting granulation tissue formation and perfusion, and by removing exudates and infectious material.
Enpiwti NPWT machine is reusable and portable device intended to be used in acute, extended and home care settings. It is used with 500ml and 1000ml canisters and compatible with NPWT dressing kit.
What is NPWT?
NPWT is a treatment that helps wounds heal by delivering negative pressure (a vacuum) to the wound. It does this through special dressings and a therapy machine. A special dressing is sealed over the wound and a gentle vacuum pump is attached to adsorb the exudate from the wound bed into the disposable canister and keep the wound clean, protect it from infection and help it to heal well and soon.
· It removes fluid that can build up in a wound and delay the healing process.
· It helps take away any germs which might be growing on or in the wound.
· It helps to pull the edges of the wound together and increases blood flow to the wound.
· It provides a sealed environment around your wound. This reduces the risk of wound infection.
